October 2014 Trip Report – HHN Nights And Food & Wine Days
Probably a trip most people would find unusual but it suited me just fine. It was a ten day vacation in Orlando and not once stepping foot in a theme park with a name ending in kingdom. My time was split pretty evenly between Universal Orlando resort and the Walt Disney world resort with an emphasis on Halloween Horror Nights and the International Food & Wine festival respectively.
My stay consisted of four nights at the Lowes Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Each of those four days and evenings included theme parks by day and Horror Nights each evening. This was extraordinarily tiring as you can imagine but exactly what I intended. I knew I could recover from my “dusk til dawn” encounters on the next phase of the vacation. Five nights at Disney’s Boardwalk Villa’s was the plan to recovery. It worked out pretty well as we were focusing on the International Food & Wine Festival rather than attractions on this particular vacation. As previously stated we didn’t go to the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom at all, and even Disney’s Hollywood Studios was only a two and a half hour visit. The remaining time was all spent at Epcot and the grand finale was spent at Universal resort for a couple of tours and a last stand at Horror Nights 24.
I hope you enjoy the following day by day trip report
